Lostathon – The most epic television marathon of this century…so far…
We kicked off the LOST-A-THON website this week and already I’m thrilled people are actually finding their way over to our little island amongst the www abyss.
LOST-A-THON has been mulling about our heads for a while now and at last our site is open for business… fundraising that is! We’re a mere 34 days away from the big event… our 121 episode, 94 hour LOST fest. I’m sure we’re not the only LOST fans who’ve contemplated watching every LOST episode back-to-back, and for those who actually did the math you’ll know LOST is only ~86hrs.. our LOST-A-THON is 94 hours including our much needed Guinness allotted 5 minutes of break per hour, which can also accumulate for that 10 minute shower I’ll undoubtedly need after a day of intense LOST observation.
So why would we put ourselves through 94 hours of a television show? Because Alex, Mike and I agree, as I’m sure many of you do too, that LOST is without a doubt THE BEST television show of all time! Opinion fact! LOST has delivered countless hours of joy, suspense, and WTF moments to millions… but alas the end is near so we decided to honor LOST’s conclusion with one last hurrah and slight amount of degeneracy which, if all goes according to plan, will be overshadowed by overwhelming support and donations from our fellow LOST fans.
We are raising money for three awesome charities, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, Doctors Without Borders, and The Nature Conservancy.
Some people have asked whether we’re doing this in shifts? The answer is NO… it wouldn’t be much of a Guinness Record if we did. Alex, Mike, and I are doing this together, I just hope that A) all three of us make it through the full 94 hours and B) that we’re all still friends after 94 hours together!

are you guys crazy!?! how in hell you gonna do that – 30 hours then 4 hours sleep, then 30 hours, then 4 hours sleep, then 26 hours? In theory you can eat, go to the toilet and shower while still watching it, so it wouldn’t have to eat into your valuable 5 min slots, which you’ll undoubtably need for sleep purposes.
And you’ll probably HATE the show after that ordeal! Rather you than me!

While I think this is totally cool….won’t you be too tired to really enjoy the finale??? Or are you counting on pure adrenaline kicking in?

I am crying that Lost is over. I can’t believe the US is seeing the last segment tonight. What are we going to do each week. Matthew Fox is so hot! I am going to miss him. What will J.J. Abrams cook up next?
